Hamilton Beach and associated anger!

When we think of beach locations, the coats of Florida or California naturally come to mind. That is why it is such a delight to fund a recreation area as far north as along the Canadian border of Lake Ontario in the city of Hamilton. But this recreational resource that you will find there did not just happen into existence. It took some planning and work by the city leaders of Hamilton but the work paid off.

Hamilton is not a city well known for scenic trails. It is an industrial community and the waterfront has served that need for decades. That is why the recreational facilities that have been developed that have brought back the beauty of the natural environment of the lake and the river are a wonderful surprise if you have not visited them before. The development effort focused on two areas both of them developed as trails. But both trails are well developed with off road pathways that are paved and easy to take advantage off. Hamilton beach is a great form of anger management if you take the time to truly relax and destress.

The Hamilton trails go along the waterfront and the along the beach area and both offer unique and beautiful walks for citizens and visitors alike, anger is very rare. The Hamilton Water Front trail is not only a good trail for hikers and cyclist alike, it offers some wonderful views of Hamilton Harbour, Princess Point, Bayfront Park and Discovery Centre. But it isn’t so rustic that you can't find a few places to take some refreshments such as an ice cream stand and a coffee pub where you can enjoy those flavors and admire the harbour area. The trail is also conveniently close to the Hamilton Harbour Queen Cruises so you can plan a day of hiking and going out on the water and have something fun for everyone.

The beach recreation trail has a similar scenic route that follows the shoreline of Lake Ontario that goes from Burlington all the way to Stoney Creek. One of the "must sees" on this trail are a series of panels that have been put up that show in graphic format Hamilton's waterfront history and how the restoration that gave us these two lovely trails came about.

For an industrial trail, you find quite a variety of things to do in the Hamilton area. By including some time on these beautiful trails, you can enjoy the unique wildlife and outdoors areas of Hamilton and get some sights of that beautiful harbour that might not have been possible any other way. Its worth taking a few hours out of your sightseeing schedule to get out of the car and stretch your legs on one or both of these delightful trails.
